As the in-house Studio Engineer at the EMI Publishing studio in London he worked solid 5 days weeks with up to 3 artists per weeks so is no stranger to diversity.
His favourite genres include Indie, Rock, Alternative, Folk and Country. A strong knowledge and feel for pop music allow him to engineer a retro, contemporary and commercial sound. You'll find him efficient, quick and always ready to capture that magical moment that makes the professioanl recording studio so different from the DIY'ers. Probably why he was so successful in London with so many top shelf artists and publishers.
He also has years experience midi programming drums and keyboards on computer or AKAI MPC to give that specific feel. He play keyboards, bass guitar, electric guitar and sings occasionally.
His journey inside the music industry began in the 1990's as Staff Assistant Engineer at Powerplant Studios & Platinum Australia both in Melbourne. After cutting his teeth there in the exciting environment, on albums by the likes of Hunters and Collectors and Crowded House he quickly moved to engineering emerging Melbourne bands.
He relocated with his now wife to Brixton, London England in 1993 to become the Studio Engineer/ Assistant at Sony's The Hit Factory London. Recording sessions here included Desree, Manic Street Preachers, Marius de Vries, My Bloody Valentine, Nelle Hooper, London Symphony Orchestra and more top UK talent.
The Hit Factory London led to freelancing at many other London studios including Sarm West, Marcus Studios, Eden and Whitfield Street; the biggest in the UK scene where his solid engineering and keyboard, drum programming skills are now on many top shelf sessions including the Spice Girls, Depeche Mode, Moby, John Spencer (live).
In 2002 he was invited to join EMI Publishing UK as Studio Engineer working alongside the A&R department. After 7 years emplyment at EMI Publishing, with the world’s best songwriters, producers and bands, Tony knew it was time to strike out on his own and to build his own business presence in the music industry by bringing his breadth of experience and unique talents home to Australia.
